Future in the Kid’s Hands was an artist in residency project that took place at St Ninian’s R.C. Primary School in Edinburgh between December 2019 and March 2020. Brian Hartley (Lead Artist) and Anna Noonan (Associate Artist) worked with Primary 6a and 6b and explored a range of creative projects across different art forms. Working with group movement scores, bird flocking patterns, direction and compass points led to a trip From the school in Restalrig to Calton Hill to make a short film one morning in early February. Thank you to staff and children at St Ninian’s R.C Primary School for your support and creativity on the day and throughout the residency. Future in the Kids’ Hands was developed as part of Imaginate’s Immerse project with funding through the PLACE Programme (a partnership between the Scottish Government, through Creative Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council and the Edinburgh Festivals). We are also grateful to Baillie Gifford for their sponsorship of the project.
